
Founding and Origins (1905–1912)
Galatasaray Sports Club was established in October 1905 by Ali Sami Yen and his friends from Galatasaray High School in Istanbul, who were inspired by the growing popularity of football in the city and sought to establish their own team. Their first match, a 2–0 victory over Cadi-Keuy FC, would push them to pursue their ambitions further.
